Please join us Wednesday, June 28th at 9:00am (CDT) for our "Future of Feeding" webinar series! This webinar series focuses on using innovation in the processing of animal food, the equipment being used (existing and newly developed), as well as using grains from our region for co-products. A new speaker will be featured each month.

This month will feature Shane Mueller, Feed Mill Manager at the Northern Crops Institute. Join us as he presents on "Efficiency of Milling Corn Study". A few highlights from his presentation include:

  • Energy efficiency of milling corn from Argentina, Brazil, United States, and Ukraine

  • Electrical energy efficiency of the main pellet mill motor and hammer mill motor

  • Pellet quality when producing a common swine gestation feed

About the Speaker.

Shane Mueller | Northern Crops Institute

Shane Mueller is the Feed Mill Manager for Northern Crops Institute in Fargo, North Dakota. He oversees the NCI Feed Production Center, works with clients on technical projects, works with commodity groups to propel their use in feed production, and works with the Northern Crops Institutes education team to assist with feed milling courses. Prior to joining the Northern Crops Institute staff Shane worked as a commercial feed mill manager in South Dakota. He oversaw the production of both dry and liquid feed in a multi-species mill producing cattle, poultry, swine, sheep, and dairy feed. Before managing the commercial mill, Shane worked within the same company as the supply chain management associate. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from South Dakota State University.
