Topics throughout the series include new processes, useful information on milling and baking, equipment information, and uses for cereal grains grown in MN, ND, SD, and MT. A new speaker will be featured each month.

This month will feature Alyssa Hartman, Executive Director, Artisan Grain Collaborative who will be presenting on Reviving a Regional Grain Chain. This presentation will bring a discussion of efforts between Midwest farmers, processors, end-users, and advocates, strengthening the regional grainshed and bringing more local foods from seed to table.

Alyssa Hartman | Artisan Grain Collaborative

About the Speaker.

Alyssa is Executive Director of the Artisan Grain Collaborative (AGC), a network of value chain stakeholders working to strengthen the regional staple crop system in the Upper Midwest. Alyssa earned a Master of Food and Agriculture Law and Policy from Vermont Law School and a BS in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from Ball State University. Prior to her role with AGC, Alyssa worked on a number of sustainable family farms throughout the country, a cooking school in Sicily, and spent several years in institutional procurement.
