Alex Buck | Iowa Corn

About the Speaker.

Dr. Alex Buck is the Director of Industrial Innovation at the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and the Iowa Corn Growers Association, where he leads the identification, development, and commercialization of plant-based chemicals, fuels, and materials made from corn. Alex has been with Iowa Corn for nine years, and he attended Iowa State University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. As the technology and product manager for the new uses portfolio, Alex directs the technical team to shepherd projects through the various phases of innovation, development, and IP strategy implementation. Alex is also tasked with identifying and negotiating with commercial partners to license and sell patents while actively scouting and evaluating potential opportunities to leverage investment and drive new uses for corn.
