Minnesota Corn Growers Association

When a small group of Minnesota farmers got together in 1978 to create the Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA), there was no ethanol industry; there was no check-off fund to pay for research and promotion of corn-based products. No corn fructose sweetener or corn-based plastics and textiles. There was scant representation of the farmer's viewpoint in St. Paul and Washington.

The North Dakota Corn Growers were organized in 1987 making ND one of the 48 states affiliated with the National Corn Growers Association

The North Dakota Corn Growers association serves as the activity arm of the North Dakota Corn Council.  Corn Growers have currently identified five priorities and have developed action teams to work on these priorities including: Grower Services; Public Policy; Stewardship & Conservation;Research; and Livestock and Ethanol Marketing.

We will maximize opportunities for the corn industry to meet growing domestic and global market demand while increasing corn farmers’ environmental and economic sustainability. At the same time, we will advocate for policies that retain viable risk management tools, encourage science-based regulations, foster a positive public perception of production agriculture and create additional opportunities to expand the uses and efficiencies of corn.
