About the Speaker.

Kathy Reding Bergren is Director of Public Policy for the National Corn Growers Association, where she manages renewable fuels issues.

Prior to joining NCGA, Bergren worked with two former Members of the U.S. House of Representatives for 13 years, including six years as Legislative Director/Policy Advisor for a senior member of the House Agriculture and House Financial Services Committees, focusing on policies such as a Farm Bill, financial regulatory reform, trade, and federal budget and appropriations.

In between two stints on Capitol Hill, Bergren spent five years as an at-home parent, while also tracking agriculture policy for a Midwest-based company.

She holds a graduate degree in Public Policy from George Mason University and an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Communications from the University of Kentucky.

Bergren was raised on her family’s row crop farms, first in north Iowa and later in central Kentucky. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband Eric and two young daughters.
