South Asia Contracting for Wheat Value Workshop

A team of six quality control and purchasing personnel from Indonesia and the Philippines attended the South Asia Contracting for Wheat Value Workshop at NCI from September 10-12. The workshop was designed to teach them more about the supply chain management challenges and how to work together to better specify their wheat for purchase. The team was joined at NCI by Steve Wirsching, Director of the U.S. Wheat Associates (USW), Portland, OR, office; Michael Spier, Regional Vice President, and Joseph Sowers, Assistant Regional Director, both USW, Singapore; Roy Chung, Baking Consultant, and Lock Yang Phua, Baking Specialist, both USW, Singapore. The participants learned more about wheat quality testing and procurement through lectures and end product evaluation. The workshop continued through Friday at the USW office, Portland.
