Philippine Trade Mission

Philippine Ambassador Jose L. Cuisia, Jr., (front center), along with Commercial Attaché Maria Roseni M. Alvero and Agricultural Attaché, Dr. Josyline C. Javelosa, toured NCI today. They were hosted the North Dakota Trade Office and came to discuss emerging opportunities in the Philippines for North Dakota industries including: value-added foods, energy technology, aviation equipment, agricultural machinery and education. This visit to North Dakota is a stepping-stone in the development of a NDTO-led Philippine Trade Mission in February 2014. The south Asian markets are growing at over 8% per year and are eager for quality products, innovative technologies and new business opportunities, according to NDTO.  The Philippines, one of the few countries that avoided a recession in 2009, grew 6.6% in 2012.  Their growth rate was the highest in Southeast Asia and averaged 6% in the last three years.
