Responsibilities:
As Food Technologist, Vidal Torres’ responsibilities include:

  • Conducting laboratory analyses on grains, oilseeds, pulse crops, and processed products.

  • Performing product development and testing with baked products, snack foods, soy food, and protein and oil testing.

  • Assisting with pilot-scale processing and product development projects.

  • Assisting with the development and conducting of educational programming through crop promotion activities and laboratory and pilot scale demonstrations.


Education:
Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology, University ISA, Dominican Republic

Master of Science in Food Science and Technology, University of Puerto Rico 


Experience:
Previously worked as a Food Technologist Specialist at the Wheat Quality Laboratory at NDSU Plant Sciences since 2019 where Vidal Torres focused on conducting research and analysis on wheat and flour. She also has experience in product formulation, sensory evaluation, and holds GMP and HACCP certifications.
