Marketing & Communications Internship

The Northern Crops Institute (NCI) is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern for the 2026 spring semester and summer. This position will assist professional team members with marketing & communication tasks, as well as being primarily responsible for executing NCI’s webinar series through the summer. The intern will also gain meaningful experience with social media and implementation of marketing plans. This person will network with a wide variety of NCI stakeholders including international visitors. The position will require approximately 10-20 hours of work per week during the academic year, and 40 hours per week during the summer.  Experience in agriculture is not required.


Primary duties

  • Marketing, coordinating, and delivering webinars.

  • Social media content creation.

  • Development of marketing materials.

  • Working with and updating NCI’s Constant Contact database.


secondary duties

  • Capturing and editing video content.

  • Assisting program managers with logistics and service for in-person courses.

  • Serve as a chaperone for the NCI Summer Ag Academy.

  • Provide customer service coverage at NCI as needed.


minimum qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Works well with dynamic, changing, and team-oriented environments.

  • Knowledge of Zoom, Canva, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university and completed at least freshman year.

  • Ideal candidates should be working towards a degree in one of the following areas: Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Ag Communications, or related majors.
