Technical Services

The Northern Crops Institute provides technical services for the domestic and overseas markets. Whether you simply have a question about your processing or you'd like to bring your production staff to the NCI for ingredient testing, we are willing to assist you. Our staff will also travel world-wide to assist in uses of northern-grown crops.

Our pilot-scale processing equipment includes:

  • Wenger TX-52 high temperature/high pressure extruder

  • DeMaco 2VSM pasta extruder

  • Post-processing equipment for drying, toasting, flaking, coating, and steam processing foods

  • Pilot durum mill is the only facility in the US that is dedicated specifically to educating and training durum millers. Private companies use the mill to test durum wheat varieties and specialty crops.

  • Feed Mill serves as an educational and technical center specializing in feedmill management and feed manufacturing technology.
