Responsibilities:

As NCI Director, some of Jirik’s responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative leadership for Institute’s fiscal, personnel, and program efforts

  • Secure state and private funding

  • Lead public relations efforts with regional, national and international partners

  • Maintain contact with commodity groups, food processing industries, trade organizations, professional organizations, private sector representatives

  • Consult with Northern Crops Council (NCC) for Institute direction

  • Implement policies and procedures to comply with Institute, state and federal regulations

Education:
Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics, North Dakota State University, Fargo, N.D.

Master of Science in agricultural economics, University of Illinois, Urbana, Ill.

Experience:
Jirik has more than 17 years of experience in commodity merchandising and commercial management at Cargill.
