Responsibilities:
Provide leadership in technical services for regional crops in the form of processing and providing consulting and processing solutions to processors and end users; develop and conduct educational programs that identify market opportunities and address quality characteristics desired by buyers and processors of regional crops; conduct market development activities to promote sales of regional crops; conduct, coordinate and supervise processing (baking, pasta processing, extrusion, milling, canning, coating, drying, roasting) and product development services.

B.S. in Agricultural Engineering: Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture Department of Food Science and Technology Ankara, Turkey
M.S. in Food Engineering: Istanbul Technical University Department of Food Engineering Istanbul, Turkey
Ph.D. in Cereal Science: North Dakota State University Department of Cereal Science Fargo, ND
Experience:
At NCI since 2006. Over 10 years of research and process development experience in the pulse, oilseed and wheat quality and processing.
Conducted research on characterization of fermented chickpea in dough and bread systems; evaluation of physical, chemical, microbiological and sensory properties of roasted flaxseed; evaluation of roasted North Dakota durum wheat (frekeh) quality; evaluation of North Dakota dry pea quality; development and characterization of pre-cooked dry pea flour, development and characterization of navy and pinto bean snacks fortified with milled flaxseed; utilization of commercial Turkish wheat flours in Asian noodle making.
